Grandma and PopPop Visit

Grandma and PopPop flew in for a short visit two weeks ago and the we all had fun with them. We didn't do much but relax and had great fun doing it.

The boys had a blast with blowing dadilions at Thanksgiving Point and showing Grandma and PopPop Cabela's. Kyler also collected some rocks another favorite for him.

Both boys enjoyed story time with Grandma and PopPop. They would wake them with books in hand and anytime there was a little down time their they were with another book. (Sorry Grandma and PopPop they sure love books and it was fun to watch you with them.) Conner also loved showing off how well he can read.

Conner also took Grandma to school as his show and tell. I think it was his favorite show and tell, he still talks about it.

Thank you for coming to see us Grandma Frances and PopPop Tom. We sure had fun!! Kyler still wonders where you are sometimes.

Kyler's Excamater

After the race we all went back to Steve and Val's and had a little party for Kyler's birthday. He had it in his head that he wanted an "excamater" cake. So I worked on a design and think it came out OK. Any time he went anywhere and anyone asked him if it was his birthday or how old he was turning his response was always the same, "excamater cake"! He really loved it and could not and still has not stopped talking about his excamater cake and excamater birthday. In case you are unsure what an excamater is, it is an excavator.

Race for the Cure

Saturday morning we all got up very early and went to Salt Lake to do the Race for the Cure. We walked 5K and had fun. We went with all of Brian's family and even had our own team name, Zella's Bazoombas in honor of Brian's grandma Zella who died of breast cancer. Brain's mom is also a 2 time survivor and was so grateful we went to do this with her. We had a blast and were all exhausted by the end of the day.

Wow, look at all those people!!

Mommy and the boys.

Conner and Logan take a break.

Kyler gets a ride on his buddy, PopPop's shoulders.

Kyler's Birthday

It is so hard for me to believe that my baby turned 3 on Friday. He was so excited!! He chose pizza for dinner and was telling me at the restaurant that circle foods are yummy like cookies and pizza and suckers and doughnuts and pancakes and waffles....
We gave him a new outfit with a frog on the shirt and he spent the morning hopping around like frog.

They are getting so big and are looking more similar all the time!

Kyler also got a Wall-E for his birthday. Thank you to all the notes, cards, text and phone calls, Kyler loved all the attention!

The Bee's Game

On Wednesday we went to watch the Salt Lake Bee's play. Brian was able to get free tickets through and the boys always have a blast. We were right behind home plate which was a lot of fun. The boys loved watching Bumble the mascot and liked the crack the bat made when the ball was hit. Kyler was fasinated with everything, especially the venders walking around. He really liked the look of the cotton candy and would point it out when ever he saw it. We finally gave in a bought some to let him try it...then he wasn't sure if he liked the cotton candy, too sticky he said.

Conner's Preschool Mother's Day Celebration

On Friday Conner's preschool class had a Mother's Day celebration for all the mom's. They made card, planted flowers, and sang songs. It was very cute, here are two of their songs.

Conner would not sing but he knew all the actions.

Living Planet Aquarium

Wow, it is so hard to believe another month is gone. The rest of April went by pretty quick we had a trip to the doctor for everyone. Conner had is 5 year well check and 4 shots! Kyler picked up something at the doctor and we took a trip back there the next week for a nasty virus and double ear infections, he is better now. Brain has been having issues with numbness in his leg and went to get it checked. I had my 28 week visit and glucose test, yuck! But the baby is doing well her heart beat is strong, she is measuring well and is head down for now.
Today we took a little trip to the local aquarium, it is not very big but it has been almost years since we were there last and the boys did not remember it. The aquarium also has added a new area which had animals from the amazon. There were piranhas, an anaconda, spiders and frogs. Kyler loved the frogs, his favorite was the poisonous blue dart frog. Conner loved watch the fish and sting rays swim in the hands on tank but would not stick his hand in the water.

We also saw the jellyfish.

The reef fish, aka Nemo and friends.

And of course the sharks, three times I think. They are a favorite for both boys and are pretty fun to watch too! In all the trip to the aquarium was a lot of fun and a nice break from home and the doctors.

A Room For Two (to make room for three)

Well we officially moved Kyler in with Conner this week. They think it is the best thing ever!! Conner loves having the top bunk and Kyler loves his big boy bed with Wall-E sheets. It has probably been harder on Brian and I because we feel bad making Kyler give up his room, although it helps that he thinks being in Conner's room is so fun! But Brian and I don't get as many hugs and the boys aren't sleeping as late as they used to. They love the bunk bed and will spend hours playing games, reading books, and doing puzzles on the top bunk until Conner decides he is done sharing and wants Kyler off. They we hit melt down and have to take a break from the beds.

Easter Dinner and Party

After church we drove up to Steve and Val's home for the annual Grandma Valerie Easter Egg Hunt and dinner. It was great fun the cousins all got together and dyed eggs while Grandma and Pop pop hid the eggs outside. Then we all went out to watch the boys find the eggs.
After the hunt we all sat down to a delicious ham dinner. It was fun to see all the cousins interact now that they are getting older they play together pretty well. After dinner we celebrated Aidan's 3rd birthday as a family. As usual I made the cakes.... It was a bunny to fit with the Easter theme.

Kyler was so excited about the present we got for his cousin that he wanted to help him open it. (You see he picked out it himself and really likes it.)

Easter Morning

The boys were so excited to see what the Easter bunny left Sunday morning. They woke early and could hardly wait for Dad to see if the Easter bunny had come, which he had of course. They were so excited about their Easter baskets full of candy and dollar toys they had a hard time hunting for their eggs.

Each time they found an egg they would look at their basket some more before returning to the egg hunt.

Then they found their sand toys that the Easter Bunny left them and we went outside to see the giant turtle sandbox.

The boys haven't wanted to be anywhere else since...even today as it is pouring rain they are begging to go out to the sandbox.

After we pulled them away from the sandbox we went to church, here are the boys in their easter outfits. Conner even had matching argile socks, wich he was proud of...but somehow I didn't get a picture of them but he showed them off to everyone at church.

Dying Eggs

On Saturday we dyed Easter eggs. The boys had great fun. It was fun to watch their different approaches.

Conner took his time to get the egg the right color or right combination of colors.

Kyler wanted to color one after another and finished his twice as fast.

We all had a great time.

Kyler decided that using the spoon took too long and decided hands worked better.

Wiggle Dancing

Kyler asked me to plug in the Wiggles so he could "dance" and Conner joined in on the fun. I had great fun watching all thier "moves". They have been dancing and showing off their moves ever since. It sure brightens my day.

March was a busy Month

It's so hard to believe it's really April already. Last month was a blur between being sick and all the parties and events we had going the month flew by. I made many cakes...

Sharon and I made a diaper cake for Brian's cousin Roxanne's baby shower. It turned out really cute and we had fun at the shower. She had her baby on March 27. He was 5lb 3oz and 18 inches long.

Next we celebrated Brandon's birthday it had a St Patrick's Day theme and I made a shamrock cake.

Then on Saint Patrick's Day we were able to be a part of Ben and Angel's wedding. They were so excited and looked so happy.

Then I made one last cake for nephew Guinness. He turned two and loves Sponge Bob.
In between all the excitement Conner had a cold for several day, which Kyler caught. Then Kyler got a double ear infection. Then I caught the clod, which dragged on for over a week and then turned into a sinus infection which dragged on and on.......but Brian never caught it and we are all well again. YEAH!!!!
